Acoustic windscreen and laminated row one side glass
Smart innovations create a more tranquil Range Rover cabin experience. Already soothed by the quiet of the vehicle's advanced engine technology, additional levels of acoustic refinement are achieved with a laminated front screen and front door privacy glass. You can also choose laminated rear door glass to further protect the cabin from outside noise.
-
Front and rear park sensors and rear camera
Front and Rear parking sensors are standard on The Range Rover. Additionally, the new Rear Camera displays a rearward view from the vehicle on the Infotainment screen. To make parking as easy as possible, static lines representing the vehicle's outer perimeter and predicted path are superimposed on the rearward image.
-
Power fold and heated exterior mirrors with memory
-
Privacy glass
Laminated privacy glass allows rear seat passengers to travel more discreetly and provides increased security by restricting vision into the cabin. Exterior mirrors – auto dimming
Auto dimming exterior mirrors provide a dipping function that detects excessive light and automatically darkens the mirror glass. This reduces glare from the headlamps of other vehicles in dark or low light conditions, improving the driver's rearward vision.
-
Adaptive Xenon headlamps
The Range Rover front lamps make optimum use of Xenon and LED technology, offering 'automatic on and off' functionality and directional lighting. Aesthetically pleasing, the 'concentric circle' headlamp design communicates a more striking personality.
Automatic High Beam Assist for the new headlamps detects oncoming or followed vehicles to switch between high and dipped beam. The whiter light from the Xenon headlamps, combined with adaptive front lighting, provides exceptional illumination that also moves with the vehicle's pitch and steering direction. -
Titan grille mesh finish
The Range Rover now has ever more elegance. A new, larger, three-bar grille imbues it with even more authority. Complemented with a Titan silver finish to the front grille, the diamond mesh design allows for greater air-intake, maximising performance and capability. A unique Noble-plated finish on Autobiography front grille and side vents adds further consummate detail to this gracious vehicle.

The new 12 inch TFT-LCD virtual instrument panel uses the same technology found in high-quality computer laptops and can be both personalised and adapted to suit various driving conditions or personal preference.
During night-time driving, for instance, the TFT-LCD virtual instrument panel's 'torchlight' setting highlights only the essential information on the speedometer and odometer. Additionally, when driving off-road, key dynamic information is displayed in the centre of the TFT-LCD screen, complementing the main Touch-screen display and providing valuable ‘at a glance’ vehicle status. -

Driving and Transmission
Driving and Transmission
The sophisticated, fully adaptable six-speed transmission with CommandShift® actually responds to driving style and driving conditions by reconfiguring shift patterns, as appropriate, for optimum driveability in all situations. This means better response and smoother, more efficient gear changes as well as improving economy.
- As Standard with this model of Range Rover
-
Hill Descent Control (HDC) with Gradient Release Control (GRC)
The combination of Electronic Centre Differential and upgraded Hill Descent Control with Gradient Release Control gives The Range Rover driver total confidence over some of the most precipitous terrain.
When engaged and where a sharp descent is detected, the HDC system automatically engages to achieve maximum grip. Varied brake and acceleration pressure then smoothly release the vehicle down the gradient until the optimum descent rate is reached. All without effort on the driver’s part. -
CommandShift® six-speed adaptive automatic gearbox
CommandShift® six-speed Adaptive Automatic Transmission comes as standard and allows manual selection in high and low range. The technology adapts to your particular driving style and the prevailing surface conditions, producing a more responsive performance and smoother gear changes. You can enjoy improved fuel economy through a wider range of torque, plus 10 percent faster shift times with sport shift.
-
Dynamic Stability Control – Electronic Traction Control
The four-wheel Electronic Traction Control (ETC) monitors individual wheel speeds and cleverly distributes drive to the wheels that have the best traction. Should a wheel begin to spin, ETC instantly sends braking pulses to help slow it down until it grips again. At the same time, torque is applied to the opposite wheel and reduces the speed of the vehicle safely.
-
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC)
The new 2010 Range Rover has a further refined Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) which provides even earlier identification of vehicles that may move into your path. This third-generation ACC system uses 12 beams to scan the road ahead 10 times every second, making it one of the most advanced systems available. It also offers more progressive deceleration, resets more accurately and is better able to indentify smaller road users, such as motorcycles, against larger vehicles and trucks.
The ACC can be programmed to one of four settings. These are between 1.0 and 2.2 second intervals from the vehicle in front in normal driving conditions and when either Grass, Gravel or Snow are selected on the Terrain Response® dial.
The ACC is also complemented by Forward Alert and Advanced Emergency Brake Assist (AEBA), all working together to help avoid a collision, in the first instance, by giving audible and visual alerts. Should an impact become inevitable, the AEBA with full ABS is triggered. This typically saves up to two-thirds of the time of the normal emergency brake assist system.
- Permanent four-wheel-drive
- Centre electronic differential with low range transfer box
- Diesel Mis-Fuelling Protection Device
- Rear Electronic Differential (only with Adaptive Dynamics)
Suspension and Steering
Suspension and Steering
Air suspension, standard on every Range Rover, works with Terrain Response® to provide sublime handling, comfort and capability. Complementing it is the new optional feature of Adaptive Dynamics, which ensures the ultimate Range Rover on-road experience with enhanced control.
- As Standard with this model of Range Rover
-
Electronic cross linked air suspension
Electronic air suspension with automatic load-levelling comes as standard on The Range Rover. This feature automatically compensates for a wide variety of vehicle loads. The addition of a new control system also means that the variable dampers are adjusted 100 times a second to produce an exceptionally comfortable ride, whatever the road or driving conditions.
-
Terrain Response®
Land Rover's patented Terrain Response® technology helps the driver confidently conquer gravel, grass, snow, rocks, and tarmac. By simply turning the conveniently positioned dial to the appropriate icon, the engine, transmission, suspension, and traction settings are instantly reconfigured for optimum driveability in all conditions.
The driving technology now takes a further step forward and includes the new Sand Launch Control system. This is designed to help prevent wheel spin and the vehicle 'bellying out' when moving off from a standstill. Once the vehicle reaches the appropriate speed, the slip thresholds are increased to help maintain progress. -
Adaptive Dynamics
The new Adaptive Dynamics suspension system provides the best ever Range Rover experience over rough roads by fully utilising the vehicle's long suspension travel to absorb potholes or ruts. It also provides enhanced control at higher speeds while cornering or braking.
The system monitors the road 500 times a second and predicts the driver's actions, constantly fine tuning the suspension settings of each wheel of the vehicle to best suit the terrain. This helps ensure that all occupants are transported in the greatest possible comfort, regardless of the road surface and variations in conditions.
- Power assisted, speed proportional steering (PAS)
- Front: MacPherson struts with double lower control arms of vertical travel
- Rear: Double wishbone of vertical travel
