Command driving position

The renowned command driving position is a central feature of every Land Rover vehicle. It gives greater visibility ahead and of the surrounding environment as well as adding to the driver’s control and feeling of security.

Electric six-way driver and four-way passenger seat adjustment

Freelander 2 offers the option (model dependent) of seats that are optimised for comfort and support with six-way driver and four-way passenger electric adjustment. A further option (with leather seats only) of three memory settings for the driver’s seat and exterior mirrors is available. The steering wheel can also be adjusted for rake and reach.

Rear seat split 60/40 design

The folding 60/40 split rear seats make the already generous loadspace even more versatile, and when folded down provide up to 1,670 litres of capacity. With a metre between the wheel arches, there's also more room for awkward loads.

Automatic climate control with air filtration

Air-conditioning comes as standard on Freelander 2 to help you maintain your ideal temperature wherever you are, whatever the weather

Electric panoramic sunroof

The optional panoramic sunroof – with a fixed rear section and electric tilting/sliding front section – adds to the feeling of lightness and airiness within the cabin. The glass is specially formulated to filter the sun’s infrared rays, providing light without unpleasant heat. Both sections also include a convenient blind

Interior stowage

Interior stowage includes a capacious glovebox, generous front and rear door bins, with one litre bottle storage holders, two cupholders in the centre console between driver and front seat passenger and two additional cupholders in the rear centre armrest (when fitted).

Leather steering wheel

Steering wheel mounted controls at your fingertips for ultimate ease of use. Depending on the model, intuitive technologies available cover cruise control, the audio system and hands-free phone functions. Six-speed automatic transmission with CommandShift®

A six-speed automatic transmission with CommandShiftÒ and sport mode is standard on Freelander 2 models with the 190PS SD4 diesel and i6 petrol engines. It is available as an option with 150PS TD4 engines. CommandShiftÒ provides all the advantages of an automatic transmission and also allows the driver to make manual sequential changes, and Sport mode offers even livelier performance.

Terrain Response®

Tackle tough conditions confidently with Land Rover's patented Terrain Response® technology – fitted as standard on every vehicle (except the Freelander 2 entry model). A turn of the dial reconfigures the engine, transmission, and traction settings for optimum driveability across a variety of conditions: tarmac, grass, gravel, snow, mud, ruts and sand.

Electronic Traction Control (ETC)

Electronic Traction Control (ETC) is a sophisticated stability control system that senses when wheel slip is occurring and uses the braking system to minimise wheel spin.

Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD)

By controlling the brake forces between the front and rear wheels, Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) provides predictable braking under different load conditions.

Airbags

Seven airbags are fitted as standard and play a key role in helping to safeguard all occupants. Driver and front passenger airbags provide head and chest protection while side airbags offer protection from lateral impacts. Full-length curtain airbags provide head impact and rollover ejection protection for all occupants while a driver's inflatable knee bolster provides additional lower body protection.

DVD Navigation System with Full Colour Touch-Screen

Relax as your Land Rover navigation system guides you towards your destination. The optional, easy-to-use DVD satellite navigation makes finding your destination or the nearest filling station really straightforward. A combination of voice guidance, map display and text instructions tell you where you are, where you are going and how to get there
