Two new features are now available with Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) for driver convenience and help to further enhance the active safety aspects of the Range Rover. Queue Assist extends the ACC function to allow the vehicle to come to a stop, when it reaches a traffic queue. Intelligent Emergency Braking uses radar to detect vehicles travelling in the same direction and automatically reduces impact speed if it calculates that a frontal collision is unavoidable.; Power Upper & Lower Trunk/Tailgate
The split tailgate feature is now available with a powered function; remotely from the key fob; or via controls on the tailgate itself. Upper tailgate opening height can be configured for pre-selection. The new split tailgate improves access to the luggage compartment. It also retains usage of the lower tailgate as a seating or standing platform at outdoor events. As a safety function, anti-trap protection helps to ensures that if obstructed the power operation will be interrupted.

Rear View Camera
As one of the Driver Assistance Technologies, providing improved visibility when reversing, the Rear View Camera is a valuable parking aid and offers help when hitching a trailer. Static lines representing the vehicles outer perimeter and predicted path are superimposed on the rearward image, to make parking in tight spots as easy as possible.

Park Assist is available for the first time in the Range Rover and makes light work of parallel parking in tight urban spots. The system identifies a space, prompts the driver to select reverse and automatically steers the car.

Reverse Traffic Detection is a new feature which warns the driver of vehicles approaching from either side of the rear of the Range Rover during reversing manoeuvres. The system is designed to alert the diver if an obstacle is detected within a three seconds or less ‘time to collision’.

Only available when Blind Spot Monitor and Closing Vehicle Sensing are fitted.; Surround Camera System
The Surround Camera System uses five digital cameras, discreetly placed around the vehicle, to provide an almost complete 360 degree view on the Touch-screen. It aids parking and is perfect for more complex driving assignments such as towing a yacht or horsebox.

Along with the capacity to display several different views at the same time, this impressive technology also has the facility to zoom and pan, ensuring objects and angles, normally below line of sight, will be seen.

Towing Assist is included with Surround Camera System. This predicts the trajectory of both vehicle and trailer, working as a guide when coupling a trailer, and providing a recommended path for the vehicle when reversing.

The design evolution of the Range Rover incorporates a simplified, more accessible layout of control systems for enhanced intuitive functionality. There are two screens, both of the highest resolution and clarity. One in front of the driver for main instruments, and one Touch-screen with Dual View for Infotainment and secondary functions, such as navigation and climate control. Premium sound systems by Meridian*, exclusive to Range Rover vehicles, ensure perfectly optimised sound quality.

Bluetooth® Connectivity helps to keep you in touch while you’re on the move. Phone calls and audio streaming can be achieved through Bluetooth® via the vehicle’s keypad and steering wheel switches.

The centrepiece of the facia is the 8-inch high-resolution Touch-screen that's available with the dual view system. This allows the driver and passenger to view completely independent display content, for example, the driver can use the Satellite Navigation system, while the front seat passenger is able to watch a DVD or TV. One set of WhiteFire® digital wireless headphones is included.

The Hard Disk Drive (HDD)-based satellite navigation system is easy and intuitive to use. The Rear Seat Entertainment package ensures there’s never a dull moment for occupants in the rear of the vehicle. Features include two 8-inch video screens, a pair of WhiteFire® digital wireless headphones and a dedicated remote control.

A high-resolution 8-inch Touch-screen is the control and display system for the Range Rover’s infotainment features. Situated in the centre console, the Touch-sceen features clean and contemporary graphics. The virtual buttons create the impression of 3D surfaces and the keys on either side of the Touch-screen provide short-cuts to commonly used screens such as Home, Audio/Video, Nav and Phone. Unlike conventional voice control systems, the Range Rover’s advanced ‘Say What You See’ system learns from your past preferences to give you intuitive prompts and suggestions on the commands you’re most likely to use next. Prompts are displayed on the Touch-screen. The system can be ‘trained’ to recognise the accents of regular users and controls a full range of functions including: navigation, radio/satellite, radio/DAB, iPod®/USB/Auxiliary connections, CD and virtual CD multiplayer, Display and Notepad.

The 12.3-inch virtual instrument panel uses state-of-the-art, high-resolution display technology and the latest colour graphics for clear communication of the main vehicle functions and data. With elegant virtual dials that appear to be 3D chrome it can be tailored to display only information that is relevant to the current driving situation.; Meridian Surround Sound System (825W)
The Range Rover offers state-of-the-art audio systems developed by Meridian*, global leaders in digital signal processing and audio technologies. This 825 Watt system has 19 loudspeakers and 16 channels, including a dual channel subwoofer, that are placed in ideal positions around the car. Whilst all sound systems offer highly optimised sound quality, the 825 Watt system incorporates Meridian Trifield** technology that effortlessly blends the centre channel with front and left channels to create a concert-like experience for all occupants.

This premium 1700W system delivers pristine sound for all seating positions via 29 loudspeakers including a subwoofer, with four loudspeakers located in the roof lining and additional seat-back centre loudspeakers delivering an even more realistic musical performance. Taking surround sound to the next level, Meridian Trifield 3D technology provides greater control over the content of the surround and side channels, as well as additional signal feeds for height speakers. This premium technology expands the sense of space within the cabin, providing a personal, realistic three-dimensional listening experience in every seat.

We take our responsibility to the environment very seriously with an integrated and innovative strategy we call Our Planet. Our plan is simple; to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels and the production of man-made CO₂emissions, to use fewer resources and create less waste.

We do this by investing in four key areas areas designed to reduce our carbon footprint, support conservation and humanitarian collaborations and includes one of the world’s most comprehensive CO₂ offset programmes.

CO₂ Offsetting

Investing in renewable energy, technology change and energy efficiency projects. As well as offsetting CO₂ emissions from the manufacturing assembly of Range Rover and Land Rover vehicles, our programme means customers can also offset the first 45,000 miles of driving their new Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles.

A joint £800m investment into new technologies designed to reduce CO₂emissions and improve fuel consumption. We are targeting a 25 percent reduction in joint fleet average tailpipe CO₂ emissions by 2015, as part of our carbon management plan. Range Rover Evoque has been accredited to ISO14040, a whole life assessment that measures the vehicles environmental impact from manufacturing to use.

Sustainable Manufacturing

World class manufacturing facilities, certified to ISO14001 since 1998. As a company we are targeting a 25 percent reduction in operating CO₂ emissions by 2012, 25 percent in waste to landfill and 10 percent in water consumption, based off 2007 levels. Our initiatives include factory energy efficiencies, cutting transport miles and offsetting all CO₂ emissions from manufacturing assembly process.
