Land Rover, a brand that is committed to producing products that are innovative and boast engineering excellence, celebrate the people responsible for driving the South African business forward at this year’s Dealer of the Year Awards. Held at the opulent Arabella Western Cape Hotel and Spa, this year’s most anticipated event on the Land Rover calendar did not disappoint as dealers from around the country were invited to enjoy a weekend of pure luxury.
The baroque-themed Awards Dinner, held on Saturday 11th February showcasing the hilarious Kevin Perkins aka, Michael Naicker proved as magnificent as it sounds, especially when surprise guest and new Range Rover Sport Ambassador, Bryan Habana walked onto stage to hand over and congratulate the award winners.
Bryan, who has been selected as an ambassador in support of Land Rover’s recent announcement as the Official Vehicle Sponsor of Rugby World Cup 2011, first welcomed the winner of the Financial Services Dealer of the Year which was won by Land Rover East Rand. The next award was presented to Land Rover Durban for the Best Retail Environment, followed by Land Rover Vereeniging and Land Rover Centurion for the Committed to Service Excellence and Embracer of the Brand awards respectively. Land Rover Empangeni walked away with the Most Improved Dealer of the Year Award, Land Rover Sandton achieved top honours as the Top Sales Dealer of the Year and the winner of the Top Service CSI (Customer Satisfaction Index) Dealer of the Year accolade went to Ritchie Land Rover Standerton.
Finally, the 2010 Dealer of the Year Award announcement was preceded by a description of what the criteria are for such an honour which includes reaching 100% dealership objective for new vehicle sales and total part purchases; achieving National Average for Service CSI; proving a positive return on sales and meeting Land Rover South Africa’s Demonstrator standards for the 3rd and 4th quarters.
Land Rover South Africa was thrilled to announce, that for the first time ever, the winner would succeed for the second year running for this award before announcing Land Rover Stellenbosch as the honourary recipient of the Dealer of the Year Award 2010.
Dealer Principal of Land Rover Stellenbosch, Mr Mark Philp said of the award, “It’s one thing to win this prestigious award once but quite another to be named the winner two years in a row...and then to be presented the award by one of our rugby greats, Bryan Habana was the cherry on the cake for us.” Philp continued, “We have adopted a philosophy in our business that we believe aligns with that of the Land Rover brand, to be the best at what we do, to be passionate and to live the brand every day, not just when you’re on work time – this incredible accolade is testimony to that.”
This morning, Zara Phillips visited the Royal Windsor Horse Show to announce a new engineering scholarship programme.
