RANGE ROVER EVOQUE NAMED 2012 LUXURY SUV OF THE YEAR BY AUTOBYTEL

Land Rover North America is proud to announce that the 2012 Range Rover Evoque has been named 'Luxury SUV of the Year' by Autobytel, adding to the newest Range Rover's list of over 70 international awards.

“It is a great honor for the all-new Range Rover Evoque to be named the Luxury SUV of the Year by Autobytel,” said Kim McCullough, Brand Vice President, Land Rover, North America. "To be recognized for the Range Rover Evoque's innovation, originality and advancements, speaks greatly to the direction of our future products."

The 2012 Car and Truck of the Year Awards were chosen by the editorial group of Autobytel®, led by Editor in Chief, Michelle Naranjo. Autobytel editors have driven hundreds of vehicles and have chosen this year’s winners based on their game changing potential, advances in design and overall efficiency.  “Land Rover engineers were given a difficult task of building a smaller model with the same level of luxury and off-road prowess expected from this brand,” said Michelle Naranjo, Editor in Chief, Autobytel®.  “Meeting this seemingly daunting challenge, Land Rover recently started production of its all-new 2012 Range Rover Evoque and we think it’s a winner.”

The 2012 Range Rover Evoque is the smallest, lightest, most fuel efficient Range Rover ever produced. The vehicle stays true to the core values of Range Rover, providing premium levels of craftsmanship, luxury, performance and Land Rover multi-terrain capability while embodied in a more compact package.  The Range Rover Evoque achieves a 28 MPG EPA highway rating and sends a message that the company is serious about sustainability and determined to deliver vehicles that are both relevant and highly desirable.

The Range Rover Evoque is available in two versions: a coupe and a five-door, equipped with all-wheel drive and features a 240-horsepower, turbocharged, direct fuel injected, four-cylinder engine coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Range Rover Evoque has been engineered with Land Rover capability. It can wade in nearly 20 inches of water, operate at tilt angles of up to 45 degrees, and features the latest Land Rover Terrain Response® system, which has modes for sand, mud, ruts, grass, gravel and snow.
