What to do in the unlikely event of an breakdown
In the unlikely event of a breakdown our objective is to minimise your inconvenience and provide you with the best service possible. Land Rover Assistance no only covers breakdowns, but also offers additional and unique benefits to vehicles that are covered by their factory warranty.
What to do when help is required
Simply dial toll free 0800 49 49 32 (08004X4XFAR) from anywhere in the country, which will connect you to a Land Rover Assistance operator. You will be asked to provide the following information -
- Your Land Rover Assistance Membership Number, which is located on the inside front cover of the Warranty and Assistance Booklet that you received when you purchased your new Land Rover
- Your name and address
- The location of your vehicle
- Colour and registration number of vehicle
- Nature of trouble
Land Rover Assistance will contact the nearest approved contractor who will be despatched to provide assistance. (Please note that some areas within New Zealand will be quicker to get to than others).
Towing
If the vehicle cannot be mobilised at the point of breakdown, Land Rover Assistance will will provide free recovery of your vehicle and if applicable a small boat, trailer or caravan to the nearest Authorised Land Rover service centre. The vehicle must be located on a public road, or be easily accessible on private property. Land Rover Assistance does not provide breakdown assistance for vehicles located in off-road situations.

General Exclusions
Land Rover Assistance is excluded for -
- Vehicles used in motor racing, rallies, speed or duration testing or any practice thereof
- Claims arising from loss or damage to the contents of the vehicle
- Claims arrising from damage caused through forced entry in an attempt to recover locked keys, where the owner/driver has been fully briefed on the situation by Land Rover Assistance staff or the provider in attendance, and the owner/driver has subsequently agreed to indemnify Land Rover Assistance against any damage caused during entry
- Claims arising from a recurring electrical or mechanical fault resulting from improper maintenance or servicing where a know fault and repair has been neglected
- situations where the vehicle is disabled by floods, snow affected roads, or is not accessible due to other adverse conditions
- Unattended vehicles
- Vehicles modified from standard manufacturers specification
- Vehicles other than those confirmed as covered by Land Rover in New Zealand
- Vehicles not displaying a current motor vehicle registration certificate and warrant of fitness
