e_TERRAIN TECHNOLOGIES
A joint £800m investment into new technologies designed to reduce CO2 emissions and improve fuel consumption. We are targeting a 25 percent reduction in joint fleet average tailpipe CO2 emissions by 2015, as part of our carbon management plan. Range Rover Evoque has been accredited to ISO14040, a whole life assessment that measures the vehicles environmental impact from manufacturing to use.

Sustainable Manufacturing
World class manufacturing facilities, certified to ISO14001 since 1998. As a company we are targeting a 25 percent reduction in operating CO2 emissions by 2012, 25 percent in waste to landfill and 10 percent in water consumption, based off 2007 levels. • The full glass fixed panoramic roof enhances the sense of space in the vehicle’s interior and floods it with natural light. To maintain a comfortable interior temperature and to provide a sense of privacy, the toughened glass has a dark tint and is treated to offer a high degree of solar protection.

Six-speed Automatic Transmission with Drive Select
The Range Rover six-speed automatic transmission with Drive Select delivers Range Rover’s best fuel efficiency. It’s available on petrol models and features sophisticated, ‘rally-style’ Paddle Shift controls on the steering wheel, which allow you to take manual control of the transmission to increase your driving enjoyment.
Instead of a gear lever, the automatic transmission is controlled by an advanced rotary gearshift, which raises up to ‘handshake’ the driver when the engine is switched on. Select ‘Sports mode’ and you’ll not only enjoy a more dynamic and responsive ride, you’ll also find the interior mood lighting changes to red to enhance your driving experience.

Advanced technologies have been deployed to enhance suspension performance. The seamless combination of suspension and steering technology helps to deliver superior on-road ride and dynamic handling.
In addition, lightweight aluminium chassis components are used extensively on Range Rover Evoque, improving suspension performance by increasing stiffness and reducing unsprung weight, as well as contributing towards reduced weight and increased efficiency.
Range Rover Evoque is the first Range Rover with a new Adaptive Dynamics System featuring MagneRide™ technology. This stiffens the suspension and delivers more positive, confident cornering.

Terrain Response®
Range Rover Evoque features the very latest version of Range Rover’s legendary Terrain Response® system. This makes on-road and off-road driving effortlessly enjoyable, while maximising traction in a variety of conditions. You can select settings from snow to mud to sand.
Terrain Response® integrates the following technologies:
Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) – if the system detects that the driver is losing control, DSC intervenes to maintain stability. It works by blocking torque and/or applying braking to selected wheels to counter understeer or oversteer and regain control and traction.
Electronic Traction Control (ETC) – helps to optimise traction and stability by controlling wheel spin. The ETC system reduces torque to the spinning wheel, and then applies braking if further control is required.
Hill Descent Control (HDC) – automatically restricts your downhill speed to a safe limit, using the anti-lock braking system. This latest version features enhanced performance and an improved interface to help the driver easily adjust the target speed. HDC works seamlessly with Gradient Release Control (GRC) which optimises a controlled descent by progressively releasing the brakes when moving off on an incline.
Hill Hold
During hill starts, Hill Start Assist holds the brakes for a few seconds to prevent the car rolling backwards.
Roll Stability Control (RSC)
This uses a sophisticated roll-over prevention system to detect the onset of a roll-over. The system applies brakes to the outer wheels to widen the turn radius and help prevent the roll. -
Hill Start Assist
Hill Start Assist is an enhancement to Range Rover’s unique Terrain Response® system. They work together seamlessly to make hill starts safe and effortless. The system holds the car on inclines long enough for the driver's foot to move from brake pedal to accelerator, without the car rolling backwards and without needing to engage the handbrake.

Hill Descent Control (HDC)
Land Rover patented Hill Descent Control (HDC) assists with safe, controlled descents of difficult slopes by maintaining a constant speed and applying braking, in conjunction with the anti-lock braking system, separately to each wheel. HDC uses the latest interface to provide the driver with easier adjustment of the target speed.

Cruise Control
The cruise control system will maintain your cruising speed at a constant level until you either apply the brakes or cancel it, using the steering wheel controls. Invaluable on long journeys and an easy way to ensure you stay under the speed limit.

EPAS (Electronic Power Assisted Steering)
The meticulously tuned EPAS (Electric Power Assisted Steering) system delivers accurate, consistent steering and agile cornering. Power assistance is speed-sensitive so the steering is light and responsive at lower speeds and firmer at higher speeds.Compared to conventional power steering systems, EPAS is much more responsive and energy-efficient. It can also reduce your CO2 emissions by 3 percent and will help reduce your fuel consumption.

Park Assist
This is the first Range Rover to feature this advanced technology, which helps you parallel park in tight urban parking spots. Using ultrasonic sensors, the system automatically steers the vehicle into the optimum parking position, while the driver controls the speed and brakes.
Information graphics and messages are displayed throughout the manoeuvre, which can park the vehicle in a space of only 1.2 times its length.

Elegant ‘3D type’ screen graphics give you an intuitive interface that lets you control driver information, communication and entertainment functions. Hard keys on either side of the display provide short cuts to commonly used screens, such as Home, Audio/Video, Navigation and Phone.
The showpiece of the centre console is the high-resolution command and display system. The 8 inch Touch-screen features the optional advanced Dual View technology, allowing the driver, for example, to use the Satellite Navigation system, while the front seat passenger can watch TV or a DVD. -

The system is designed to make it easy to connect your personal devices – including iPods® and other portable MP3 players or memory sticks – with a choice of direct iPod® connections, USB socket and auxiliary input. 5 Inch TFT Colour Driver Information Display
Between the two major instrument dials, a full 5 inch colour driver information display (TFT) provides key information, including temperature, fuel levels, gear position, Terrain Response® mode, hill descent status and cruise control. 380 watt Meridian Sound System
Range Rover has partnered with Meridian, a world leader in audio technologies and digital sound processing, to develop advanced audio systems for Range Rover Evoque. All audio options in Range Rover Evoque have benefited from meticulous attention to detail, to achieve the highest possible sound quality, with particular emphasis on placing the speakers in optimum positions within the car.
The sound architecture of the 380 watt system features 11 speakers including subwoofer with exceptional clarity and dynamics. Power ratings are at a practically audio distortion free level of 0.2% THD + N (Total Harmonic Distortion plus Noise).
CD and MP3 disc and file compatibility for your iPod® or other MP3 devices is standard.

HDD Navigation System
Hard Disk Drive (HDD) Navigation provides premium navigation, information and mapping using the full colour 8 inch Touch-screen. You can enter a destination either by address, full postcode or by Points of Interest. The system delivers faster operating speed and greater data storage than CD/DVD-based systems and supports map updates via your dealer's electronic service systems.
