As iconic British brands, Jaguar and Land Rover proudly celebrated the Queen’s Birthday and Her Majesty’s Diamond Jubilee across a number of MENA markets, including the UAE, Lebanon, Iraq, Jordan and Tunisia.
Under the patronage of Mr. Dominic Jermey, the British Ambassador to the UAE, the British Embassy in Abu Dhabi organised a special commemorative parade, which was exclusive to UK-made vehicles. Al Tayer Motors, Jaguar and Land Rover’s exclusive dealer in the UAE, was one of the sponsors, and invited Jaguar and Land Rover owners to join in the parade.
The celebrations lasted a week in Lebanon, where Mana Automotive and Land Rover participated in the Great Britain Week, which ran from June 12 to June 17 at ABC Ashrafieh. Events held during the week included traditional Scottish music parades, screenings of British films, an exhibition of vintage British cars and fashion shows. Throughout the week, Land Rover vehicles were put on display, including the Defender Series II, Range Rover Sport and LR2.
In Iraq, the event took place at the Rotana Hotel Erbil, while in Jordan and Tunisia events were held at the British Ambassador’s residence. British diplomats, government officials, including ministers and senior advisers, as well as leaders in the private sector, top businessmen, journalists and other opinion formers joined in the celebrations.
