Land Rover's system is intelligent because it:

• Is automatically activated every time the vehicle is started
• Doesn't affect the operation of the vehicle's lighting and in-car entertainment systems when stopped
• Cleverly checks if any other vehicle systems are needed before stopping the engine
• Won't switch off the engine if it's needed to ensure comfort levels, such as climate control
• Will re-start, without any intervention from the driver, if necessary – for instance if battery power falls below a certain level
• Is automatically disengaged if Hill Descent Control or any of the Terrain Response® programmes are selected
• Can be de-activated at any time via a switch on the fascia

In addition, to help optimise economy anytime anywhere, an ingenious gearshift indicator light advises when selecting a higher gear would improve fuel consumption.
