Freelander 2 is smart for town, tough for the country. And now it’s sportier and more distinctive than ever, even more comfortable and offers even more convenience and driving enjoyment. There are bold new colours, new exterior design features, a redesigned interior with upgraded equipment levels and a new state-of-the-art Si4 GTDi petrol engine.
Outside Freelander 2 looks even more contemporary with new headlamps and rear lights using the latest LED technology and a new signature graphic in the front running lights. Head-turning 17-inch alloy wheels are now also available. Plus three new striking exterior colours, Aintree Green, Havana and Mauritius Blue. There’s even a body styling pack option on Dynamic models.
Inside, Freelander 2 steps up a class with enhancements that make the experience more premium and more comfortable for driver and passengers alike. Slip behind the new, chunky steering wheel with its convenient toggle switches controlling key Infotainment and vehicle functions.
In front of you there’s a new instrument pack with new graphics, dials and a new 5 inch TFT screen for important vehicle information. There’s a new centre console with increased storage plus an electric park brake. And a new Terrain Response® switch.
In addition, every Freelander 2 now boasts a colour screen as the centrepiece of the Infotainment system, which includes the availability of a premium Meridian audio system. More convenience comes in the form of Passive Start which means that, as long as the key is somewhere inside the car, the engine starts at the touch of a button. There is also the choice of a Rear View Camera to assist with reversing and hitching.
Freelander 2 is now available with the new Si4 2.0 litre GTDi petrol engine, which joins the diesel line-up. This new direct injection turbocharged engine reduces CO2 emissions by up to 12 percent compared with the engine it replaces. It delivers 240PS and 340Nm of torque for relaxed cruising and strong low-speed response as well as a significant weight reduction, enhancing Freelander 2’s driving dynamics.
"Downsizing from a six cylinder to a highly efficient yet powerful four-cylinder engine combines high performance and refinement with the economy our petrol engine customers expect,” says David Mitchell, Chief Programme Engineer for Freelander.
With more exciting looks, more choice, convenience and comfort plus an even greater opportunity for personalisation, this is the latest Freelander 2.
