INTERIOR FEATURES

Freelander 2’s premium interiors offer a great choice of options and materials, including soft, supple Windsor leather seats as part of the Premium Pack. It also provides space in abundance thanks to generous head, shoulder and legroom. What's more, everyone can enjoy the view with stadium seating putting rear seats 50mm higher than the front seats. Rear seats split 60/40 (for a more versatile loadspace).

2.2 litre eD4 150PS Diesel engine with six-speed manual transmission and intelligent Stop/Start system

For customers who want all of Freelander 2’s practical advantages, including command driving position, class-leading ground clearance, 2,000kg braked towing capacity and great interior flexibility, but don't require the ultimate in 4x4 capability, Freelander 2 is available as a two wheel drive vehicle – badged eD4.

The vehicle is fitted with the 150PS 2.2 litre diesel engine with six speed manual transmission and an intelligent Stop/Start system as standard. By shutting down the engine, in appropriate conditions when the vehicle comes to a stop, it enhances fuel efficiency and reduces tailpipe emissions to zero. The system can operate at temperatures as low as 0°C. The vehicle delivers 6.0l/100km on the EU combined cycle with 158g/km of CO2 emissions. Freelander 2 is packed with innovative technology that helps save fuel.

DRIVING AND TRANSMISSION

All models with the 2.2 litre 150PS diesel engine with six-speed manual transmission feature an intelligent Stop/Start system as standard. While the six-speed automatic transmission with CommandShift® (optional on the 150PS TD4 and standard on the 190PS SD4 diesel and 233PS i6 petrol engines) offers optimum driveability as well as manual sequential gear changes and a driver selectable sport mode.

SUSPENSION AND STEERING

Independent suspension delivers superb on-road dynamics with handling that is both rewarding and responsive, as well as a ride that is comfortable whatever the surface. Long wheel travel adds to Freelander 2's capability off-road, while its positive steering and compact turning circle of 11.3m ensure excellent control and manoeuvrability in the tightest situations.

SAFETY AND SECURITY

Freelander 2 is packed with advanced safety systems and technology, including a host of sophisticated stability control systems, all standard. The strong monocoque body and inner safety cell, protected by meticulously engineered front and rear crumple zones, are designed to absorb energy on impact.

Freelander 2 offers the latest technology to keep you informed, in touch and entertained. Five high-quality in-car entertainment systems are available, all with MP3 compatibility. For increased listening choice DAB radio can be specified in Europe and satellite radio in certain other markets – please refer to your Land Rover Dealer for availability. On selected models optional DVD satellite navigation is available via a large, high definition Touch-screen. Optional Bluetooth® personal telephone integration is available with compatible mobile phones.
