Freelander 2 HSE is a pleasure to drive on-road and off-road, delivering agile handling and outstanding ride comfort. The well appointed interior is exemplified by the choice of grained leather seat facings with six-way driver (with three memory settings for the driver’s seat and exterior mirrors) and four-way passenger electric adjustment. Choose between four different fascia finishes including the optional Grand Black Lacquer finisher. There is an Alpine™ audio system, and the option of the Premium Pack which includes softer, more supple Windsor leather seats with eight-way driver and six-way passenger electric adjustment. Also available is DVD satellite navigation, Bluetooth® connectivity and a panoramic sunroof.

Electric Panoramic Sunroof
The optional panoramic sunroof – with a fixed rear section and electric tilting/sliding front section – adds to the feeling of lightness and airiness within the cabin. For customers who want all of Freelander 2’s practical advantages, including command driving position, class-leading ground clearance, 2,000kg braked towing capacity and great interior flexibility, but don't require the ultimate in 4x4 capability, Freelander 2 is available as a two wheel drive vehicle – badged eD4.
The vehicle is fitted with the 150PS 2.2 litre diesel engine with six speed manual transmission and an intelligent Stop/Start system as standard. By shutting down the engine, in appropriate conditions when the vehicle comes to a stop, it enhances fuel efficiency and reduces tailpipe emissions to zero. The system can operate at temperatures as low as 0°C. The vehicle delivers 6.0l/100km on the EU combined cycle with 158g/km of CO2 emissions. Freelander 2 is packed with innovative technology that helps save fuel.

DRIVING AND TRANSMISSION
All models with the 2.2 litre 150PS diesel engine with six-speed manual transmission feature an intelligent Stop/Start system as standard. While the six-speed automatic transmission with CommandShift® (optional on the 150PS TD4 and standard on the 190PS SD4 diesel and 233PS i6 petrol engines) offers optimum driveability as well as manual sequential gear changes and a driver selectable sport mode.

Six-speed Manual Transmission
An intelligent Stop/Start system is available on models with the 2.2 litre 150PS diesel engine fitted with the six speed manual transmission. This enhances vehicle efficiency and reduces tailpipe emissions to zero, by shutting down the engine, in appropriate conditions , when the vehicle comes to a stop.

Cornering Brake Control (CBC) feeds additional brake force to the outside front wheel when cornering. This minimises the risk of rear-end breakaway when braking hard.

Roll Stability Control (RSC)
While no technology can remove the need for safe driving practice, the Roll Stability Control (RSC) system can help the driver to maintain vehicle control and balance. If the system senses that the vehicle is approaching a tipping point, it will reduce engine power and use the ABS to increase the turn radius to help reduce the likelihood of roll-over.
