Engines and Performance

As part of a £800m joint investment in e_TERRAIN TECHNOLOGIES future potential developments such as diesel hybrid are being considered.  This could be one of the first diesel programmes to offer a scaleable and modular hybrid technology around a cleaner and more efficient diesel engine.  With the choice to drive by electrical power or diesel engine, this could contribute to improved fuel efficiency and reduced CO2 emission.  In the current models, an Intelligent Power Management System, including Smart Regenerative Charging, ensures the battery is charged at the most economical time.  Idle speeds are reduced and a 'metering mode' added to the diesel fuel injection system delivers fuel at the precise rate required.  Find out more about Land Rover's e_TERRAIN TECHNOLOGIES.
