Terrain Response® enables new Discovery 4 to confidently conquer gravel, grass, snow, rocks, tarmac and more. Its new, more conveniently located dial lets the driver reconfigure the vehicle's engine, transmission, suspension, throttle and Traction settings to deliver maximum traction.

Terrain Response® has been updated for Discovery 4 and now includes:

• Sand Launch Control - this function limits the level of over spin allowed on the wheels so that the driver can pull away easily even if full throttle is applied.
• Rock Crawl Pre-charge - A new 'Rock Crawl' pre-charge enhancement applies a small amount of brake pressure to each brake calliper during very low speed driving. This provides improved composure for rock crawl driving by improving the braking response for both Traction control and braking.
