Freelander 2 GS has a wealth of standard features and options. It is available with the highly efficient new 2.2 litre 150PS diesel engine, available on the TD4 model, with a six-speed manual transmission and an improved intelligent Stop/Start system as standard. There is also the new 2.2 litre 190PS diesel engine with six-speed automatic transmission with CommandShift® which is fitted to SD4 models, providing improved overall performance.
Advanced features include Land Rover's Terrain Response® system, cruise control (conveniently located with the audio controls on the steering wheel) and automatic dual zone climate control. And automatic headlamps with powerwash, front fog lamps and rain sensing wipers and rear parking aids. There are sporty 17 inch six-spoke alloy wheels with the option of a further four stunning wheel styles. There is an Alpine™ branded audio system with single slot CD player with nine speakers and MP3 compatibility plus Bluetooth® Connectivity. Options include a choice between either full Napoli leather seat facings or Napoli leather seat facings with Alcantara® inserts – both with six-way driver and four-way passenger electric adjustment. Also available is a choice of three facia finishers with either Silver Element metallic, Black Element metallic or Dark Chestnut wood effects, DAB radio, and a panoramic sunroof.

For customers who want all of Freelander 2’s practical advantages, including command driving position, class-leading ground clearance, 2,000kg braked towing capacity and great interior flexibility, but don't require the ultimate in 4x4 capability, Freelander 2 is available as a two wheel drive vehicle – badged eD4.
The vehicle is fitted with the 150hp 2.2 litre diesel engine with six speed manual transmission and an intelligent Stop/Start system as standard. By shutting down the engine, in appropriate conditions when the vehicle comes to a stop, it enhances fuel efficiency and reduces tailpipe emissions to zero. The system can operate at temperatures as low as 0°C. The vehicle delivers 6.0l/100km on the EU combined cycle with 158g/km of CO2 emissions. Freelander 2 is packed with innovative technology that helps save fuel.

Intelligent Stop/Start system
Land Rover's intelligent Stop/Start system is standard on eD4 and TD4 models with six speed manual transmission. Helping to improve fuel consumption and reduce CO2 emissions in traffic, the system intelligently stops the engine when you come to a halt and shift into neutral. When you're ready to move off, depress the clutch and the system will re-start the engine

Roll Stability Control (RSC)
While no technology can remove the need for safe driving practice, the Roll Stability Control (RSC) system can help the driver to maintain vehicle control and balance. If the system senses that the vehicle is approaching a tipping point, it will reduce engine power and use the ABS to increase the turn radius to help reduce the likelihood of roll-over.
