Range Rover Sport certainly hasn´t rested on its laurels. This prestigious award comes after a series of rigorous road tests and off-road challenges set by the Top Gear team.  From out-manoeuvring a high-performance military tank on the TV show, to conquering Dubai´s ´Big Red´ sand dune in the magazine, Range Rover Sport came out on top every time. As Top Gear Editor, Michael Harvey acknowledged, saying: "The Supercharged 390bhp Range Rover Sport is the only choice for Top Gear magazine´s SUV of 2005." 

There´s a new Monarch of the Glen in Scotland. The Range Rover Sport has been crowned the Scottish SUV of the Year for 2005, beating tough competition from the Volkswagen Touareg and Mercedes ML. The title was given by the Association of Scottish Motoring Writers (ASMW) who were more than impressed with its all-terrain pedigree and incredible on-road driving dynamics. "We loved this wonderfully talented and exceptionally luxurious British-built vehicle", said Ally Ballingall, President of the ASMW.

Influential specialist title 4x4 Magazine placed Range Rover Sport ahead of 42 other 4x4s to win its coveted ´4x4 of the Year 2006´ competition. Range Rover Sport Supercharged also claimed the magazine´s ´Luxury´ category, beating the BMW X5, Lexus RX300, Volvo XC90 and VW Touareg. Its unique breadth of capability, dynamic exterior looks, luxurious interior package and pioneering technologies convinced the judges that "there could only be one winner".
