The 180 degrees team
When the going gets tough, the tough get a Land Rover to back them up
180 DEGREES - AND 100% COMMITMENT
The 180 degrees expedition sees Rob Gauntlett and James Hooper attempt to travel from Pole to Pole using only carbon-neutral resources. The expedition seeks to highlight the issue of global warming and give young people self-belief. We´re delighted to be supplying a Land Rover for the support team.
180 degrees - and just 20
Rob and James conquered Mount Everest in May 2006 as the youngest Britons to reach the peak.  Now aged just 20, they´re travelling from Pole to Pole by human and natural power alone - a world first if they make it. Beginning at the North Pole, they´ve already dog-sledded, skied, walked, wind-sailed, yachted and cycled their way halfway to the South Pole.
The unbelievable journey
Along the way, Rob has survived falling through the ice, which left him unconscious in ice-cold water for three minutes. But despite the dangers, they´ve never considered giving up. Like the famous explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes, the pair are determined to "never take no for an answer." It´s this attitude, endless energy and a little help from Land Rover that´s kept the planetary pioneers going.
Land Rover - the expedition´s lifeline
Rob and James have found the expedition Land Rover invaluable. In their own words:

"It´s a robust, practical and reliable car - The support team use the Land Rover every day, it´s our lifeline. It carries all our essential items; tents, spare bike parts, food, water etc."

We´re happy to help, and wish Rob and James good luck in completing their 22,000 mile journey.
