These advanced, heated mirrors come with ‘auto dipping’ which detects excessive light and glare then automatically darkens the mirror glass to improve vision when reversing. They are also power-folding to avoid damage when parking in confined spaces. Downward lighting ‘puddle’ lamps project an illuminated Range Rover graphic on the ground, to help light your way away from the vehicle.
The exterior mirrors are also equipped with a memory function. Once you set your ideal seating and mirror positions, it automatically recalls your preferred driving position settings when you put the key in the ignition.

The 2.0-litre Si4 engine combines Range Rover’s best fuel economy with a refined, powerful performance.

A lightweight all-aluminum powertrain with the latest direct-injection technology, the Si4 delivers the same power as larger capacity engines, but with lower fuel consumption and up to 20 percent less CO2 emissions.*

The responsive six-speed automatic transmission features Drive Select, an advanced rotary gearshift, which rises up to ‘handshake’ the driver when the engine is switched on. ‘Rally-style’ Paddle Shift controls on the steering wheel allow you to change gear manually, when you want to.

It does this by employing a suite of innovative technologies including Terrain Response®, which adapts Range Rover Evoque’s engine, transmission and electronic systems to maximize drivability, comfort and traction.

The Range Rover six-speed automatic transmission with Drive Select delivers Range Rover’s best fuel efficiency. It’s available on both petrol and diesel models and features sophisticated, ‘rally-style’ Paddle Shift controls on the steering wheel, which allow you to take manual control of the transmission to increase your driving enjoyment.

Instead of a gear lever, the automatic transmission is controlled by an advanced rotary gearshift, which raises up to ‘handshake’ the driver when the engine is switched on. Select ‘Dynamic Program’* and you’ll not only enjoy a more dynamic and responsive ride, you’ll also find the interior mood lighting changes to red to enhance your driving experience.

Range Rover Evoque features the very latest version of Land Rover’s legendary Terrain Response® system. This makes on-road and off-road driving effortlessly enjoyable, while maximizing traction in a variety of conditions. You can select settings from snow to mud to sand.

Terrain Response® integrates the following technologies:

Dynamic Stability Control (DSC) – if the system detects that the driver is losing control, DSC intervenes to help maintain stability. DSC works by blocking torque and/or applying braking to selected wheels to counter understeer or oversteer and help regain control and traction.

Electronic Traction Control (ETC) – helps to optimize traction and stability by controlling wheel spin. The ETC system reduces torque to the spinning wheel, and then applies braking if further control is required.

Hill Descent Control (HDC®) – automatically restricts your downhill speed to a safe limit, using the anti-lock braking system. This latest version features enhanced performance and an improved interface to help the driver easily adjust the target speed. HDC® works seamlessly with Gradient Release Control (GRC) which optimizes a controlled descent by progressively releasing the brakes when moving off on an incline.

Hill Start Assist - During hill starts, Hill Start Assist holds the brakes for a few seconds to help prevent the vehicle from rolling backwards.

Roll Stability Control (RSC) - This uses a sophisticated roll-over prevention system to detect the onset of a roll-over. The system applies brakes to the outer wheels to widen the turn radius to help maintain stability.; Hill Start Assist
Hill Start Assist is an enhancement to Land Rover’s unique Terrain Response® system. They work together seamlessly to help make hill starts safe and effortless. Between the two major instrument dials, a full 5 inch colour driver information display (TFT) provides key information, including temperature, fuel levels, gear position, Terrain Response® mode, hill descent status and cruise control. It also gives you basic audio details and trip computer info. Turn-by-turn navigation instructions and ‘Say What You See’ voice control* prompts are also there, right ahead of you. We take our responsibility to the environment very seriously with an integrated and innovative strategy we call Our Planet. Our plan is simple; to reduce our dependency on fossil fuels and the production of man-made CO₂emissions, to use fewer resources and create less waste.

We do this by investing in four key areas areas designed to reduce our carbon footprint, support conservation and humanitarian collaborations and includes one of the world’s most comprehensive CO₂ offset programmes.

CO₂ Offsetting

Investing in renewable energy, technology change and energy efficiency projects. As well as offsetting CO₂ emissions from the manufacturing assembly of Range Rover and Land Rover vehicles, our programme means customers can also offset the first 45,000 miles/72,000 km of driving their new Land Rover and Range Rover vehicles.

e_TERRAIN TECHNOLOGIES

A joint £800m investment into new technologies designed to reduce CO₂emissions and improve fuel consumption. We are targeting a 25 percent reduction in joint fleet average tailpipe CO₂ emissions by 2015, as part of our carbon management plan. Range Rover Evoque has been accredited to ISO14040, a whole life assessment that measures the vehicles environmental impact from manufacturing to use.

Sustainable Manufacturing

World class manufacturing facilities, certified to ISO14001 since 1998. As a company we are targeting a 25 percent reduction in operating CO₂ emissions by 2012, 25 percent in waste to landfill and 10 percent in water consumption, based off 2007 levels. Our initiatives include factory energy efficiencies, cutting transport miles and offsetting all CO₂ emissions from manufacturing assembly process.
